Behaviour

Behavioural Support for Dogs and Cats

Our canine and feline companions don’t always behave in ways we expect. If your pet’s behaviour is causing stress at home, at the park, or in other settings, Gambier Vets is here to help.

We offer friendly, practical advice tailored to your pet’s needs and your lifestyle. Whether it’s barking, aggression, anxiety, destructive behaviour, or toilet training concerns, we can work with you to explore strategies that may improve your pet’s behaviour and strengthen your bond.

We also recognise that some behavioural issues are complex and may need to be approached much like a medical condition. In these cases, we can help organise referrals to trusted veterinary behaviour specialists.

If you're unsure where to start, don’t worry — just give us a call. We're happy to help guide you through the options.

Microchip Registration

Give Your Pet the Best Chance to Come Home

Did you know 1 in 3 pets will become lost at some point in their lifetime. Microchipping is one of the most effective ways to ensure your pet can be safely and quickly reunited with you if they ever go missing.

This quick and simple procedure involves placing a tiny chip under your pet’s skin, which contains a unique 15-digit identification number. When scanned by a vet, council, or rescue organisation, this number links to a national database containing your contact details.

At Gambier Vets, we go a step further. When we microchip your pet, we personally register their details with both:

  • The Australasian Animal Registry (AAR)

  • Dogs and Cats Online (DACO)

This ensures your pet’s information is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible to authorised personnel Australia-wide — giving you peace of mind that your furry family member has the best chance of finding their way home.
